Neurodivergent Technology

Opening new pathways for personal and professional success

In our Alumni Ventures (AV) annual staff retreat in December, our team was tasked with presenting one “Big Idea” for where we see untapped potential for innovation and growth. My colleagues Meera Oak, Jason Bird, and our venture Fellow Margot Shang, all shared the belief that technology that serves the needs of the neurodivergent population present not just an opportunity for impact, but for extraordinary business upside as well.

Individuals who are neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.), which make up an estimated 15-20% of the population, are often overlooked both socially and professionally, but hold immense promise as an untapped labor source (JP Morgan says neurodivergent workers can be 90-140% more productive than others). Numerous early-stage companies, such as Mentra, Daivergent, Inclusively, Voiceitt, and AV portfolio companies Clarity Pediatrics and Rime, are already empowering this pool of under appreciated talented in promising new ways.

Our team leveraged InVideo AI to bring some of these thoughts to life through this video.
