I recently attended a technology conference, where I serendipitously met a social enterprise founder who amazed me with his story, one that I knew I had to share. Abdul Shiil was a refugree from Somaliland to the UK, where he grew up and knew that he wanted to start a business that would help make the world a little bit better. Along with his mother, brother, and sister, he started Sahan Cares to help train other refugees in the UK to become personal caregivers. In so doing, he went about trying to solve two critical problems at once: integrating refugees and filling the enormous demand for caregivers for the elderly and disabled. Tune to hear more of Abdul’s incredible story and wisdom!
